Potato Chips And A Mandoline

Potato Chips And A Mandoline

One of the things I have always thought would be amazing to do would be to take a knife skills class or course. The one where they teach you how to chop and slice like a chef without cutting yourself. The other reason I would really love that class would be that prep time would be cut easily in half! I admit, I have gone online and found videos from real life chefs on how to do it correctly and tried to adopt their methods. Sadly, I do not have the same skill and results they do. Plus, now that I am in my 50’s, I have the added bonus of getting arthritis in my hands which greatly hampers my ability to chop for extended periods of time.

Another reason for wanting to learn magnificent knife skills is so I can thinly cut potatoes or sweet potatoes so I could make my own potato chips. Do you have a love for potato chips like I do? Since I started my journey to intentionally adopting a healthier lifestyle, eating potato chips has had to go. I’m not going to lie….it has been a struggle. So I though if I could slice my own and bake them in the oven or air fryer I could have healthy potato chips. Epic fail. I couldn’t slice evenly or thin enough plus the time it took to cut one potato was silly!

Enter the game changer: Pampered Chef Mandoline. One of our friends was hosting a Pampered Chef online party and said we could have a look at the website. If we wanted to order anything, we just placed an order and when it asked if we wanted to link it to a particular host, we could scroll through the list provided and choose our hosts name. Easy peas-y! We ordered the mandoline. This thing is awesome! I was able to slice up some sweet potatoes and make potato chips which are delicious! My husband made french fries in our air fryer which can be made in two different sizes. The time we save alone on chopping is fantastic.

Truth be told, I tried selling Pampered Chef twenty-five years ago to earn money in the evenings as a stay-at-home mom. I still have may of them today because they are great quality. In today’s online world, selling is different than ever before. We can host online parties and our virtual guests can order whatever they like without pressure of a sales pitch or our friends watching to see if we order something or sneak out the back door. So…once again, I have taken the plunge and signed up to be a Pampered Chef consultant with my husband. He said he would take care of the business side of things and I can just enjoy the product! Great deal for me!!
